House for Josephine baker is a very interesting building because its facade only used black and white. This design protect the famous cabaret singer privacy, so it was a pretty useful design. Also, this design can make people focus on the corner of the building. This three story house was designed Adolf Loos and it featured a cafe shop. In the center of this building has a indoor swimming pool with windows for underwater viewing. It is a pretty design, and it match the interesting facade. He tried to use those interesting and cool elements to create a private space. This interesting pool is not for swimming, it use for baker’s guests to watch her swim in the pool. Loos thought this design prove quality for baker’s guests. This whole building shows me the desire. Architect can use their building to show us this desire. House for Josephine baker is a good example of desire. We know this project from 1927 only by a model and a few drawings, as it was never built. When people across the entrance, they will see a big staircase. The living room and hall are on the first floor, and it has another pretty small private room. On the second floor, it is the soul of the building because the pool is there. We can see how Josephine swim and her body. This is the most important part for this building. Also, we can find a dining room, so we can have a nice dinner with beautiful pool. This interesting building use for voyeurism, so it was a big challenge to built it. This building means an erotic impulse, and it was developed step by step and became to this building.
